Litter

We use PetSafe ScoopFree litter, it can be found on amazon.  I recommend having this litter on hand for the arrival of your kitten as he/she knows only this brand of litter. If after you would like to change to another brand/kind, be certain that there was plenty of settling down time, where your kitten got to know the emplacements of the litter boxes and got his/her routine of using them comfortably before making the change.

Food

There will be food samples in your going home kit, as well as discount coupons.  Please register your free Royal Canin account with the information that I will provide you to save on your first order.  I recommend you be ready for the adoption day and have some of these foods at home.

Raw:

Our cats are fed with Big Country Raw food for breakfast and diner. The Raw must be defrosted in the fridge 24hours before serving. Once ready to serve it must be consumed within 3 days. When serving a raw food meal, it should be removed and discarded after being at room temperature for 30 minutes. I highly recommend feeding the Raw for extra nutrients, that will allow your Maine Coon to have a better over all health, soft and silky fur and better growth.  If you are not wanting to feed raw, you may replace these meals with Royal Canin canned food that best suits your Maine Coons needs and age.

Kibbles:

Our cats have access to their dry Royal Canin, kitten kibbles, 24/7. If you choose to change brands of food, ONLY after 60 days, you may start to add the new brand to the (now) Royal Canin. The transition should be over a period of 14 days with day 7 being an equal mix (50/50) of the Royal Canin and new brand of food and so on…

Supplements

A sample of Fortiflora, Probiotic, supplement will be in your going home kit. Simply add 1/3 of the sachet to their morning raw feeding once every two days to reduce stress induce diarrhea. You may continue these Probiotic as needed true you Maine Coons life. I especially recommend using this product if ever you are giving your Maine Coon antibiotics or for a new food transition. Please follow the product label for maximum dosage administration.

Parasite Control

Here at Pure-Fection Maine Coon we believe that a good parasite control is a MUST for a healthy Maine Coon as for a safe environment for your Family. We use only the best, NexGard Combo, for a complete and complex coverage. An application of NexGard Combo will be applied to your Maine Coon on the adoption day, this will protect them for a period of 30 days. 

No bathing or Wet grooming can be done for 3 days after the topical application and no other Parasite control treatments can be applied for the effective period of 30 days.

Micro-Chip

Your Maine Coon will be micro-chipped but you MUST register this micro-chip with your information. I recommend using Petlink, they have the best price, good service and offer a life time registration.

Vaccination

Your Maine Coon will have his/hers vaccination up to date on adoption day. A Booster, as of his/hers first Rabies vaccination will be under your responsibility and will be required as of his/hers 16 weeks of age. Depending on veterinary availabilities and the adoption date, your Maine Coon might required a vaccination booster before their 16 weeks dose. Please follow your Veterinarian's advice or contact me for more information regarding your Maine Coons personalized health records. You will receive on the adoption day his/hers medical records.
